It’s always nice to see celebrities help those in need and give back. Chris Pratt just helped a teen cancer patient check not only one, but three items off his bucket list. In an Instagram post from Thursday, the actor said he “lived that glam life” with Jacob, a 16-year-old from upstate New York who has been battling a rare form of bone cancer. According to Chris’s caption,

“Dear world, This is my new pal Jacob Monday. @j8ke.monday He is a 16 year old kid from upstate New York with a unique and powerful story,” began the caption, before sharing that Jacob had recently made the decision to stop his treatment and had embarked on checking items off of his bucket list. “Needless to say he and his family have been through a lot.”

As reported by Popsugar, a few of Jacob goals were to get more Instagram followers (he’s currently at 145,000 — and counting), meet Chris Pratt, and get his hair and makeup done. So Chris, being Chris, is helping him check all three items off.

Chris Pratt is adamant his Guardians of the Galaxy character will stay true to his roots in Avengers: Infinity War.

In the latest Marvel movie, the Guardians of the Galaxy, led by Chris’ character Peter Quill, team up with the Avengers superhero group to stop villainous Thanos from destroying the universe. Though the 38-year-old is excited about joining forces with the famous clan, he doesn’t see himself as a fully-fledged Avenger.

“Peter’s always going to be a Guardian,” he insisted in an interview with Britain’s Empire magazine. “It was important to us, going into this, that the Guardians have a different style. Avengers has its own tone but in a way that allows the Guardians to remain the Guardians in terms of what they bring and what people will expect to see from them.”

The Jurassic World star predicts fans “will be on their feet” when the Guardians of the Galaxy make their debut in the upcoming film, and went on to share how accommodating Avengers veteran Robert Downey Jr. was when he first arrived on set.

“I was a little under the weather and pushing really hard on the days I was working. He came up to me and said ‘You doing alright?’ I said, ‘Yeah, I’ve got a little sore throat,’” Chris explained. “Within ten minutes there was a person there giving me all these herbs and taking care of me. He offered me the use of his trailer where I could sit down and use some of his hi-tech healing gadgets.”

The Passengers actor also added how excited he was to work with rising talents like Chadwick Boseman, and praised him in particular for his role in Marvel’s Black Panther.

“I’ve seen it twice. I loved it,” he smiled. “I thought it was so good and so inventive. Chadwick is amazing. He’s really regal and powerful.” [Source]

Universal Pictures has set “Jurassic World 3” to bow on June 11, 2021, and tapped Emily Carmichael to join Colin Trevorrow as co-writer of the next pic.

“Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom,” directed by J.A. Bayona, is set to open on June 22, 2018.

Steven Spielberg and Trevorrow return to executive produce Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment’s latest installment in the franchise. Frank Marshall and Pat Crowley return as producers.

Carmichael was hired by Amblin in 2016 to write and direct the family action-adventure “Powerhouse.” She co-wrote the upcoming “Pacific Rim Uprising” and most recently rewrote “The Black Hole” for Disney and director Joseph Kosinski. The writers will work off a story by Derek Connolly and Trevorrow, who together wrote “Jurassic World” and this summer’s “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.”

“It’s important to this franchise that we welcome new creative voices to keep our storytelling fresh and alive,” says Trevorrow. “I’m thrilled with the tension and beauty J.A. has brought to ‘Fallen Kingdom,’ and I know Emily will add another layer of emotion to the concluding chapter of our trilogy.”

The last two films starred Bryce Dallas Howard and Chris Pratt. 2015’s “Jurassic World” was a monster hit, grossing $1.6 billion at the worldwide box office. [Source]

If you are a fan of Chris Pratt or Thor: Ragnarok, the upcoming movie project Cowboy Ninja Viking may be a good fit for you. The flick, based on a set of popular Image Comics, has been in development since way back in 2010, but in recent months the movie has started gaining traction again. Recently, we learned that Michelle MacLaren has been hired to direct Cowboy Ninja Viking, and now it looks like Thor: Ragnarok writer Eric Pearson will be joining the creative team. He’s signed on to rewrite the project, which hopefully means we’ll get a movie this time around.

To understand why Eric Pearson will be rewriting and not simply writing Cowboy Viking Ninja, you need to know some history. Originally, Paul Wernick and Everett David Reese were signed on to write the originally version of the movie, but then Disney dropped the project. It was picked up by Universal and Marc Forster signed on to direct, with Craig Mazin working on that draft of the script. At another point there were rumors David Leitch and Chad Stahelski would take over, but that didn’t happen. Cut to present day, and Universal Pictures is still involved with the project, just with Eric Pearson and Michelle MacLaren.

One stable thing about this movie has been Chris Pratt. The actor has been signed on for Cowboy Ninja Viking since 2014 and he’s stuck through various changes in terms of its development. Although he hasn’t been around since 2010 when the project first got off the ground, the fact that he’s stayed signed on for four years and through numerous changes is a good sign.

Chris Pratt has no plans to leave the Marvel Cinematic Universe just yet. On Instagram, he posted the massive Marvel Class Photo and expressed his gratitude to both the studio and the fans. He also shared his hopes to work with Marvel “for a very long time.”

“I’m humbled to be part of this Marvel Class Picture and to have such a great role in the upcoming Avengers Infinity: War,” he wrote. “The movie, as you can tell from the trailer is going to be off the freakin’ chain. Marvel Studios has not only changed my life and the lives of every person in this photo they have entertained millions, if not billions of people around the planet. I’m so thankful to everyone at Marvel for the opportunity of a lifetime. And to the fans for making each movie such an event.”

“I hope to work for the studio for a very long time. I know they have many more stories to tell. I believe the best is yet to come,” he concluded.

At this time, Pratt is slated for several MCU projects. He will appear in this May’s Avengers: Infinity War and even popped up in the film’s first teaser trailer. He’ll likely star in Avengers 4 as well, and Guardians of the Galaxy 3 has been confirmed for a 2020 release date.

Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Avengers: Infinity War stars Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Evans as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Anthony Mackie as the Falcon, Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch, Tom Holland as Spider-Man, Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange, Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther, Chris Pratt as Star Lord, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Dave Bautista as Drax, Bradley Cooper as Rocket, Vin Diesel as Groot, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, and Josh Brolin as Thanos. The film opens May 4. [Source]

How did Chris Pratt – God-fearing hunting enthusiast and former ‘fat guy’ – become a billion-dollar box office sensation? Celia Walden meets him

There’s the smallest of pauses before Chris Pratt confirms that he once worked as a daytime stripper. “It was actually pretty fun,” grins the actor. “I was an exhibitionist as a kid – always naked – so at 18 I announced I was going to be a stripper.

“I went for an interview, or an audition? Whatever it is strippers do. I submitted my resumé,” he gestures elegantly down at his crotch. “And they gave me the job. I did a couple of parties, then this one gal’s 40th when the men suddenly came home early and I had to grab my s___ and jump over the fence… And that was pretty much it. But I did OK. I made a couple of hundred bucks.”

All things considered, I think Pratt was wise to move on to a (mostly) clothed profession. After all, in August he was the youngest entry in Forbes’s annual list of highest-earning Hollywood actors (having made an estimated $26 million). He’s the leading actor in two of the biggest movie franchises out there (Jurassic World and Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy), one of Time Magazine’s “most influential people in the world”, and in 2015 his films made $1.7 billion at the global box office (his 2014 total: $1.2 billion).

And now he’s about to star in one of the most hotly anticipated films of the year: Passengers. But if he ever has to go back to the day job, I know a couple of girls looking for birthday entertainment.
